I believe that you are the expert on your unique lived experience, and that you already hold the wisdom you need to face life’s challenges- but no one is meant to do this work alone. Together, we will help you to get your needs met and find fulfillment for your whole self.
Kayla Robbins is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. She completed her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University Los Angeles and has trained in community mental health, elementary school, high school, and private practice settings in both California and New York. Kayla is particularly passionate about working with women in their twenties and thirties, the LGTBQIA community, couples, and those healing from trauma.
Kayla’s holistic approach is tailored to each client and is informed by Narrative, Relational Gestalt, Somatic and Internal Family Systems theories. She is also trained as a yoga teacher and mind/body eating coach, and is passionate about exploring the mind/body/spirit connection in her work. Kayla believes that we are constantly in relationship- to ourselves and our bodies, to one another, to our many identities, to the contexts we exist within- and that issues arise as a result of these nuanced relationships, not because something within us is "broken" or "wrong.” Her work focuses on being curious about, exploring and renegotiating these relationships to help clients live into their most authentic selves.
Kayla holds deep and unconditional compassion for each of her clients, along with an unwavering sense of the boundless possibilities that are available to each of us. She seeks to help clients access their strengths and approaches challenges creatively and collaboratively. Her style is warm, empathetic, and affirming. She sees therapy as a true partnership and is honored to support and empower clients throughout the process.
Kayla is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (Registration #97809) and works under the supervision of Rachel Thomasian, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 51626).
