Stella Michon Barnes is a Los Angeles native and Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (IMF 96813) who earned her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University Los Angeles. During her time at Antioch, she also completed a year of training and clinical experience at Phillips Graduate University, where she specialized in Postmodern Therapy with additional training in the fields of mindfulness, parenting solutions and teen therapy. She is particularly passionate about working with depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, parenting, teen struggles and prenatal/postnatal therapy.
Stella seeks to explore and build upon clients’ inherent strengths and abilities, with an emphasis on allowing more happiness and self-esteem into day-to-day life. She brings her unique blend of energy, patience, love and empathy to her connections with each and every client. Her experience with clients is informed by a variety of orientations including Narrative, Solution-Focused, Somatic and Cognitive Behavioral therapy practices. Most importantly, she is passionate about creating a warm, safe and nurturing space for clients to resolve the problems that render them stuck, and reach their specific goals.
Stella has extensive experience working in a variety of capacities and settings – from addiction centers to women’s clinics – and with a wide range of clients. She is currently accepting clients of all ages and stages of life: children and adolescents, adults, couples and families.
Stella is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (Registration # IMF 96813) she works under the supervision of Rachel Thomasian, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 51626).
