Valentina (Tina) Setteducate is an Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 106991). She has experience working with adults, couples, adolescents, children and families struggling with a range of matters including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, parenting strategies and relationship conflict. Tina attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana for her undergraduate work in Psychology and received her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California.
Tina believes that relationships are at the center of our lives. When the relationships in our lives feel like they are in conflict, causing unhappiness, anxiety, or sadness or not working for us at all, it often effects our ability to show up and cope in other areas. By using her extensive experience working with both individuals and couples struggling in relationships and her training as a Gottman Level 2 trained therapist, Tina helps clients identify where they are stuck in their relationships, envision what they want moving forward and help them to gain the tools to communicate better and get to where they want to be.
In addition to working at Playa Vista Counseling, Tina leads a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy group at Life Adjustment Team, where she helps clients identify unhelpful and dysfunctional thinking styles, teaches healthier coping skills, and moves clients towards balance, happiness and well-being. She incorporates CBT into her work with individuals and couples in private practice. In 2019, Tina is working towards becoming a certified sex therapist and completing her training in Level 3 Gotten Method Couples Therapy.
