About Emma

Emma Eskildsen is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who received her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University, Malibu. Emma strives to understand the human experience and meet every client where they are at. She is fulfilled by working with adults, teens, and children who may be navigating overwhelming feelings, frustrating interactions, or challenging circumstances. Emma particularly enjoys helping people ground themselves, reconnect with their bodies, and tap into self-compassion in order to better handle their lived experiences.

Emma received graduate-level training at the Boys and Girls Club of Malibu Wellness Center, a mental health organization that provides affordable therapeutic services to individuals associated with the Malibu and Santa Monica school districts, as well as the general public of California. While there, Emma received training in a variety of therapeutic models and approaches, assessment tools, and ethical standards of mental health practices. Emma also gained experience working at a residential eating disorder treatment program, where she supported adults who struggle with diagnosed eating disorders and associated mental health challenges.

Emma believes that every person has the potential to feel fulfilled and comfortable with themselves and within the context of their lives. She prioritizes fostering a compassionate, honest, respectful therapeutic relationship paired with goal-oriented and evidence-based treatment. Emma operates from a Humanistic approach to psychotherapy while utilizing skills associated with various established theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Gestalt therapy. If you are a client working with Emma, your needs, opinions, and hopes will be valued and uplifted to the best of her abilities to move towards your desired progress. Emma is currently accepting clients of all ages and walks of life.

Emma is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (Registration #134315) and works under the supervision of Rachel Thomasian, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 51626).
