SPECIALTIES & THERAPY APPROACH

Addiction ~ Attachment wounds ~ trauma

Katie is dedicated to helping individuals of all ages who are grappling with the effects of complex trauma, facing challenges related to addiction, and working towards building healthy, secure relationships.

THERAPY APPROACH

attachment focused, harm reduction, EMDR

Katie’s approach to therapy is playful, engaging, adventurous, challenging, and supportive.

She understands that the personal complexities of adverse experiences, trauma, stress & anxiety are systemic and that oppressive issues are better when healed as a collective. She is passionate about supporting individuals through their healing journey by empowering them to contribute to the healing process within their own communities.

Katie is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy - a highly effective and evidence based approach to address and heal traumatic experiences. EMDR helps individuals process distressing memories, reduce their emotional impact, find relief from past trauma and move towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.

I believe that self-discovery is an adventure where we will explore your thoughts, emotions, and memories, revealing hidden patterns and meanings that guide you toward personal growth and transformation.

Prior to starting her Master’s Degree, Katie worked for The People Concern, Los Angeles’s largest social service agency for people experiencing homelessness, intimate partner violence (IPV), and housing insecurity. She worked with a team of case managers, social workers, addiction counselors, psychiatrists, nurses and doctors, providing essential services to folks living on the streets of Santa Monica.
